DIP Foundation: A Progressive Journey in
STEM Education

The Inception

In February 2018, we embarked on a mission to cultivate a robust STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education ecosystem. This journey began with the establishment of the DIP Foundation. While at Harvard University, our interest in fostering STEAM education in our home country grew. This passion culminated in the establishment of the DIP Foundation. Recognizing our vision, a fellow Harvard classmate connected us with an Armenian initiative focused on STEAM education. To solidify our international partnerships, we undertook our inaugural visit to Armenia later that year. This visit encompassed productive meetings with various schools and culminated in the signing of a pivotal agreement with Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) for the Armath Engineering Labs program, which laid the foundation. Building upon this initial success, we returned to Armenia in 2019 to participate in the WICT conference. This participation allowed us to further strengthen our ties within the educational community and gain valuable insights through additional school visits.

The Armath

Our commitment to innovation and knowledge-sharing extended beyond regional boundaries. In 2020, we actively participated in Expo 2020. Through compelling visuals and informative videos, we documented the event’s essence and garnered positive feedback from visitors. Furthermore, we were honored to host representatives from the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) at our office later that year. This productive meeting yielded a significant partnership – the establishment of an Armath Engineering Lab for their Chittagong Base.

The Vows

While the global pandemic presented challenges in 2021, we remained steadfast in our pursuit. We successfully delivered and installed a fully equipped Armath Engineering Laboratory at BAF’s Chittagong base. To ensure its optimal utilization, we conducted comprehensive training courses for the designated personnel.

The DIP Hub

In 2022, we continued fostering a dynamic learning environment. We established a DIP Hub within our office premises, attracting students from diverse universities and esteemed department heads from the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) and the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) at Dhaka University. Concurrently, we conducted a training course in Armenia, successfully training four instructors to bolster our educational network.

STEM

A significant milestone was achieved in January 2023 with the development of our comprehensive, in-house curriculum encompassing Modules 1 to 8. To translate this curriculum into action, we initiated trial coaching sessions on Fridays and Saturdays starting in February 2023.Our vision extends beyond internal initiatives. In July 2023, we signed a pivotal Event Partnership Agreement with BRAC University’s Duburi, a flagship underwater drone project, signifying our commitment to collaborative efforts in promoting STEAM education. Additionally, we formalized a partnership with online EdTech platform Keeron, a sister concern of the prominent Daily Star newspaper to further enrich the landscape of STEAM education.

Vision

Looking ahead, we are driven by a resolute vision: to champion STEAM education across all schools and colleges. Through strategic partnerships and innovative program development, we aim to empower the next generation of creative and ingenious thinkers, shaping a future fueled by STEAM-driven advancements.
